Sunlight Bookkeeping was about coming from adversity into the sun for me, and I'm so excited to help others overcome their business challenges too.

A new start and how wonderful?!

I was told I couldn’t work again because my heart condition means I spend 20+ hours a day lying down. Sunlight Bookkeeping was my answer – combining my business and financial skills, I can work lying down, build financial security, have something to be passionate about and be a part of something meaningful.

I started in bookkeeping doing data entry in high school and while I was at uni but I wanted to be a glamorous designer. My first career, in landscape architecture, highlighted that my analysis skills were stronger than my design skills. I ended up managing construction projects and budgets, collaborating closely with designers, consultants and tradies.

Sunlight Bookkeeping is the place for me. I love the work that I do, the people that I spend time with, and the business that I have created.

To me living well means:

Living with connection, integrity, balance, generosity and enthusiasm (the core values that I aspire to!)

Working with POTS

I live with a disability called POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome), which makes it hard for me to stand or sit upright. When we meet via video, you may notice that I have my monitor above me and work in a reclining position.

When my life changed, I felt like I had lost my usefulness, and I required so much help. Setting up my own business enabled me to work again and using my business and financial skills to help others fills me with enthusiasm.

Wizard has trained me well (he is my constant companion), and I’ve train him well too (mostly).
